2010 SUMMER MISSION WORK TEAM
Pastor Dale Reese will be leading a mission work group to the Gowanda/Silver
Creek area of western New York during the summer of 2010. In a
conversation with Volunteers in Mission coordinators from United Methodist
Committee On Relief (UMCOR), they suggested our work team make plans for
that area this year. The region was hit with severe flooding on August
10, 2009.
Dates for the trip will be June 26 ~ July 2, 2010. The Mission Work
Team would travel to New York by vans. Some may go up on Saturday to
worship with the host church on Sunday. Others will depart immediately
after worship at our church on June 27. The home repair work would be
done Monday through Thursday, with the group returning home on Friday.
At this point, cost for the trip is flexible due to the fact that we will be
asking church members to sponsor the participants. Generally the
expected cost per participant would be $200.00. It is hoped the team
will include 20 persons doing mission work. If this is something you
would be interested in participating in please contact Pastor Dale.
MISSION TRIP TO ZIMBABWE
As a pastor of a church, it is alwasy exciting when a person chooses to be
involved in a global mission experience. So it is with joy and
excitement that I share the news that Kelly Smith plans to be a part of the
Ministry Team from Western PA Annual Conference to Zimbabwe, Africa.
It is my hope that our church will provide financial and spiritual support
for Kelly as she goes on this venture of faith.
~Pastor Dale Reese
